Who We Have Served

It has been the honor of The 100 Club of Kendall County to assist
the surviving spouse and children of the following individual:

End of Watch: Saturday, October 2, 1999

Lieutenant Larry Sherwood Kolb was on his way home from work when he volunteered to answer a shots fired call. Cautiously approaching the residence, he identified himself as a deputy when a shot fired by an assailent armed with an AK-47 rifle took his life. Officers responding on the scene found the suspect hiding underneath a mobile home. The suspect opened fire on them as well and was killed when the officers returned fire. Lieutenant Kolb honorably served the citizens of Kendall County for over 3 years. He was survived by his wife and two young sons.

Our thanks to the generous donors who made this contribution possible. No words can express the depth of sorrow we feel at the loss of this valued individual. We honor his family, his memory, and his service to our community. Our only consolation; this is one of the few cases when our community has lost a public servant.

If you live in Kendall County, you have undoubtedly seen the remarkable growth of our community. Through the diligent efforts of our local law enforcement community, the Kendall County area continues to maintain a comfortably low crime rate. Although we embrace the peaceful atmosphere of our community, we must prepare for the inevitable. As our community grows, the hazards to our public servants grow as well .

With this in mind, we must prepare for the inevitable. Help us provide for their needs by becoming a member.
